Many new domain owners who set up hosting are confused about how to set the nameservers for their new site. This is vital so that the domain resolves to the correct location.
Normally when you buy a domain at a registrar like GoDaddy they will assign their own nameservers to the new domain, and have a default page appear if someone goes to that address.
When you have set up hosting elsewhere, you need to use your new host’s nameservers instead.
So setting the nameservers for your site is a two step process:
1. Find out the name of the nameservers at your hosting service. When you sign up, they normally give you this information, and it will be prominent in their FAQ or Help sections.
2. Go to your domain registration account (for example at GoDaddy), select the domain, and then select ‘Set Nameservers’ or ‘Manage Nameservers’ or similar.

You can then fill in the names of the nameservers.
Note that even when you have done this it can take up to two days for the domain name to resolve correctly. Use the time to make your new pages even better!
